STRATEGY for an inclusive student profile in adult education

This policy paper was produced by our charity in 2007 in response to both Essex County Council’s withdrawal of fee concessions for over-60s and the government’s decreasing support for the wider adult education curriculum.

We set out to make the case that expenditure on a comprehensive curriculum for lifelong learning should be seen as an investment and not an unaffordable expense.

We feel that what we said is as relevant now as it was then. We have seen no improvement in opportunities in the last 7 years and are therefore again making our paper available to all who may be interested.
