The Grey Friars site is a fascinating corner of Colchester. We are often asked who lived here.
This area known as ‘Grey Friars’ has been enclosed and occupied for nearly 2,000 years.
Parts of the original site are now known variously as Grey Friars, Hillcrest, All Saints House, Roman Road and Castle Road as these all now stand within the original site.
